Sign-up and login issues

Having issues connecting to your Instagram account? Getting the “IG isn’t a business account” error even though you have a business account? 🤔

 

No problem! We're here to help.

  1. Check for app updates

You might have an older version of the WYSPR, Facebook, or Instagram app. Just visit the app store on your device and check that they are all up to date (may as well turn on auto updates for them as well 😉).

 

Then just refresh the WYSPR app (Close the WYSPR app in your phone's background and open it up again).​

2. Ensure you have an Instagram business account

Switching to Instagram business not only gives you a fantastic insight into your following, but it's required if you want to keep receiving WYSPR’s paid job offers to work with brands.

3. Already got an IG business account but it says that you don't? Connect it to a Facebook business page:​

If you’ve already got an Instagram business account or you’ve created one and still having issues, make sure it’s connected to a Facebook business page. The quickest way to do this is:

  1. Open Instagram

  2. Got to your profile, tap the     icon in the top right corner of you profile and then tap on “Settings”

  3. Go into “Business”

  4. Tap “Claim your Facebook page”

​

If you haven’t got or made a Facebook business page, then click here and we’ll show you how to make one in a under 60 seconds.

If Instagram is still saying that your IG isn’t a business account, then move onto the next stage.

4. Check your Facebook Business page is connected to your Instagram business account

Mobile version:

​

  1. Go to your FB app

  2. Tap the        icon in the top right corner and then tap on “Pages”

  3. You should now see a list of “Pages you manage”

  4. Click on the page that should be linked to your Instagram business account

  5. Click on the “Edit page” button on the page bar:

  6. Scroll down the menu and select “Settings”

  7. Scroll down the menu and select “Instagram”

  8. If your account is not connected it, then please connect it

  9. If your account is connected (you will see basic account information), please disconnect and then reconnect it

 

Now that you’ve completed the above, please try to log into the WYSPR app. If this doesn’t work and you’ve just connected it, you can disconnect your business page and re-connect it again. Sometimes this re-sets the connection!

5. Log out of your Facebook and WYSPR app, and then back into WYSPR

As we use the Facebook login to authenticate your profile, it can sometimes resolve the issue if you log out of your Facebook app and then try to log in again with the WYSPR app:

 

  1. Go to your FB app and log out

  2. Refresh the WYSPR app and login with the FB account that your Instagram business account is linked to

Go to Settings -> swipe down to Safari -> Select

 

Cookies

Go to Settings -> Safari -> Turn Block All Cookies on and off again

 

Chrome app (Android)

​

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app .

  2. At the top right, tap More .

  3. Tap History  Clear browsing data.

  4. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

  5. Next to "Cookies and site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.

  6. Tap Clear data.

If you’re still having issues, then try these advanced troubleshooting fixes:

1. I'm in a login loop

Got multiple Instagram accounts or pages? This can often cause issues, but no problem. We have a fix!

 

  1. Delete the WYSPR app

  2. Re-download the WYSPR app

  3. Open the WYSPR app and click “Continue with Facebook”

  4. You’ll be brought to a screen that says “You’ve previously linked WYSPR app to Facebook” – here you need to select “Edit settings”   

  5. It will then ask which account you want to link to WYSPR – choose only the account that you want to log in with and use with WYSPR

  6. You’ll then be asked to select a page – only select the page that is connected to that account.

  7. Then finish the rest of the sign up pages and you should be able to log in as normal

2. See if your Facebook is linked to business manager

  1. Log into Facebook Business Manager (https://business.facebook.com/)

  2. Scroll down to the “Pages” section and select the page connected to your business account (a new tab will open)

  3. Scroll down the menu on the left hand side to the bottom and select “settings”

  4. Scroll down the menu on the left hand side and select “Instagram”

  5. If your account is not connected it, then please connect it

  6. If your account is connected (you will see basic account information), please disconnect and then reconnect it

3. Facebook has given me a security alert

“Suspicious login attempt” – sounds ominous, doesn’t it? No worries! If you’re trying to log into the WYSPR app and this pops up, then Instagram will just ask you to enter the 6-digit code that will be sent to either your phone number or email.

When you’ve entered your code, it won’t automatically re-direct you back to the WYSPR app. Instead, you’ll need to log into Instagram, and then close the browser window (important).

​

When you open the WYSPR app back up you should be able to see the login screen again. Just click ‘Login with Facebook’, follow the steps and you should be able to complete your sign up without the “Suspicious login attempt” screen showing again.
